Work 1/7 thru 1/13 2011

On the 7th even though we were still demucking some from the rain two days prior we still were able to pour the Cast in Place Columns located south of A. We also started to get vapor barrier down on G and M. The rain came again over the weekend and the pictures show what the crews were dealing with to get ready for the slab pours that are scheduled this week. We had a discussion with the soil inspector and peeled back the vapor barrier as needed to ensure that the underslab sand dried out properly so no future voids would develop based on water and lack of compaction. This approach was a quality control decision by McClure management. The slab set up includes a construction joint with smooth dowels as we have done throughout the project, as well as extensive and newly added depressed areas in building G. Building M setup includes the gym floor and the various elevations of slabs and there are also some CMU footings that will be part of the pour. All diamonds were also formed.
