Work Update thru 1/31

Over the last eight work days we have been able to accomplish a good amount of work. We also have had to deal with weather conditions that are so common this time of year. As these pictures are reviewed you will note Building L Slab Prep. There is a recessed gym floor in this building and it is the only one on this project that has a rebar mat and a slip dowel and basket system similar to the other construction joints on this project. The recessed floor had a 9/16" depression with a reinforced turndown against the main slab that also included a turndown. With this kind of setup it the slabs were poured separately in order to have a proper set and elevation for the main slab when the forms were stripped for the recessed slab.
Due to the harsh weather conditions and the specifications for the slab prep we had to work diligently after the rain to make sure all installations that the rain injured were corrected. We were able to make all slab pours as scheduled.
When we poured the main slab in L we also poured a number of column footings as well as continuous grade beams in Building J. After all these pours were made the concrete plant was notified to change the mix and then we poured all remaining columns that were ready. We did this in order to maximize the pump mobilization and making sure we did not incur any additional costs and maximizing our manpower production.
The column forms have all been removed and we are no setting the beams. You will noticee that the shoring package we haev built for the beams is in place and the beams will be formed today as well. Pour schedule will be scheduled around the weather issues we are experiencing this week.
We also have started the edge forming for the upper deck of A and B. We are waiting for an installation to be completed by the steel erector which is way behind schedule so we can pour this slab. Due to this and the weather we may not pour the upper deck until sometime next week.
We also have installed CIP Elevated Beam Pockets in C and D.
Building K and J cannot be touched to set up for pouring due to the weather conditions of the site.
We also created our own ladders and had them signed off on by the safety officer of White-Spunner thus allowing us to be more versatile on the elevated work without increasing costs.
